"Kage School began as a log structure in 1849 near Cape Girardeau, Missouri. For over one hundred years, Kage School served the residents of School District No. 52. For sixteen years, Kage School was able to fend off pressure to merge, but in 1967, a majority of School District No. 52 was annexed by the city of Cape Girardeau, and in 1968, the school was officially closed."
