Abstract:
Through periodicals, letters, conversations, and an analysis of player records, the author has compiled a chronological account of how a friend and a business partner allowed the Yankees to control the Kansas City Athletics during the late 1950s, and how the Yankee dominance of baseball paved the way for pro football to become the most popular sport in America in the 1960s.
