The shootings at Kent State University on May 4, 1970, were sparked by protests against the Vietnam War. This is an excellent, up to date accounting of the Kent State shootings! 

The Kent State shootings are a complicated subject and really should look at multiple sources written across the history of the shootings.  It is a great start to begin research for National History Day...
