Abstract:

The kidnappers foil (ca. 1936) is an extravagant home movie, including a cast of local children from San Marcos, Texas. The plot revolves around the kidnapping of a child whose father is a wealthy citizen of the town. The "Local Gang" as they are referred to find the child and return her to her father, who throws them an extravagant party in addition to giving them a $1,000 reward. The second film, Our home town (ca. 1946), is a promotional film which profiles businesses in San Marcos, Texas in 1946. It encourages local citizens to support their home town businesses.
