As a big fan of the Patrick O'Brian novels it was a delight to come across this series from Dewey Lambdin. The main character Alan Lewrie is cut from a similar cloth to Jack Aubrey but his author is more bawdy in the treatment of the character - Lewrie himself is well defined and the secondary characters...
