This movie which portrays King George VI and his wife Elizabeth and children and his struggle to overcome a stammer that prohibited him for speaking successfully. His determination and courage is helped by Lionel Logue who becomes his speech therapist and life-long friend. I use this movie with my English classes so that they learn a little English history and are able to write an essay about What really made Bertie a King. The movie is an excellent resource and the acting and direction are excellent. It certainly deserved the awards that it received and my students love it.
