Contents: Yes it is textbook style (aimed at 11 --
13 yr olds) but it has lots of visuals on weights, shapes and volumes. It also has some good maths tips (shaded in colour) on many things such as how to estimate and working with temperature. Chapter 19 is definitely worth a look if you need to teach how flow charts work.

'Kiwi Maths' is based on the Nuffield Maths programme, extensively edited for New Zealand schools to meet local needs. It is designed for use by 11 to 13 year olds and their teachers, and the content throughout is directly related to the NZ syllabus, including concept revision of Standard Four, coverage of Form 1, and an introduction to Form 2 ideas. Each chapter has introductory notes for teachers, and emphasises 'Thinking and Enquiry' in maths for a wide ability range of pupils, through discussion and solving meaningful problems. A full answer section is included, along with supplementary activities for each chapter that teachers can use in a variety of ways.
