Bound in blue cloth; front board stamped in red, gold, white, and yellow with a Persian inspired design, featuring caricatures of Persians, animals, insects, and plants; central panel with title and author in gold and a sailing vessel in white and gold; unsigned binding done in the style of Blashfield's decorations. A variant binding for this edition has an identical design, but the white stamping has been replaced with pink.
