The mice family is ready for the race.  Well not all of the family is ready.  Nate is late.  In fact he is still in bed.  You see, Nate is slow.  Eventually they successfully wake him up and get him ready.  But Nate likes to go slow. It doesn’t look like that he will even start the race but when the time comes and the starter shouts “Go!”  Nate zips.  It seems he like to go slow and fast.  This is a charming picture book with illustrations by Emily Arnold McCully that will be a good choice for K-1 story time and SEL units.
