Resumen:

Washington Irving published his most famous book, which included tales "Rip Van Winkle" and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," in 1819. Irving become the first American writer to gain stature in Europe. In this program schoolmaster Ichabod Crane settles himself into a comfortable life in the tranquil village of Sleepy Hollow along the Hudson River. Ichabod soon finds himself vying with Brom Bones, the leader of the Sleepy Hollow Boys, for the attetnion of lovely (and wealthy) Katrina Van Tassel. On Halloween night, Brom relates to Ichabod the frightening tale of the Headless Horseman, and at midnight, Ichabod comes face to face with the legendary hunter. The next morning, all that's left of Ichabod is a broken pumpkin and an abandoned hat. Much later, a rumor spreads that he is living happily in a distant county, married to a wealthy widow. By then, fair Katrina has become the bride of Brom Bones.
