摘要:
Earle writes from "The Homestead," Hot Springs, Va., describing the resort as "dull and costly" but where "gout and rheumatism vanish." Earle has sent Mrs. Field some of her work and has read some of Mrs. Field's. She offers to do research for her, and will resume work on her "Tavern and stage-coach days" when she is stronger. She notes that she has not been able to be out much as the "country roads are a foot deep with the red Virginia mud," and ends with a brief discussion of the child who wrote "Diary of a Boston school girl in 1771" which she edited.
