Abstract:

Correspondence.

This collection contains 63 pages of photocopied letters written to Harriet Beecher Stowe, ranging in date from 1870 to 1885. There are three letters from J.T. Fields, dated February, March and April of 1870. There is one letter from James R. Osgood, dated August 1872. Eight letters from Annie Fields dated August 1872, July and August 1878, February 1879, January and November 1881, and August 1884. There is also one letter from Henry W. Beecher, dated July 24, 1885. Some of the correspondence concerns the American Civil War, slavery and the book, Uncle Tom's Cabin.
