Thomas Hobbes; William Molesworth
|Notes:||The Leviathan was drawn from the 1843 Molesworth edition. Every word was checked against the 1651 edition of the Leviathan. The words of the text presented here are those of the 1651 edition, with variants being the text of Molesworth which deviates from the 1651 edition. In a few cases which do not affect content, we have retained Molesworth's words (e.g. in the 21. Psalm vs. in Psalm 21.). The capitalization and spelling conventions are those of Molesworth. A number of changes have been made in Molesworth's punctuation (over 1000); all such changes were based on the 1651 edition. The remaining deviations in punctuation are due to Molesworth. Hobbes: LVI PAST MASTERS Preface Para. 2/2 Two page numbers identify each paragraph: the first labeled p., refers to the page number in Molesworth. The second, labeled mp., refers to the page number in the C. B. Macpherson Penguin edition.|
