Both Lincoln and Meissner attribute 'Tota pulchra es' to C. Morel (Clement Morel). However, the Grove entry for 'Morel' indicates that there are chanson publications with attributions to Clement Morel which have been subject to the same erasures of the first name seen in this copy, suggesting they are misattibuted to Clement. There were several other musicians named Morel active at this time including: a Morel who may have been in the service of Henry Fitzalan, Earl of Arundel; Jenin Morel, a singer in the chapel of Charles V; and Nicholas Morel, maître des enfants de choeur at Rouen Cathedral.
