Autograph presentation books, letters and MSS., linking Winter in a charming and delightful way with his troops of friends, in the worlds of literature, the stage and art. Pieces of priceless association value bear the names, among other intimate friends and comrades, of Aldrich, Mary Anderson, Philip James Bailey, Edwin Booth, Laurence Barrett, John Burroughs, Samuel L. Clemens, Daly, Dr. Furness, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Henry Irving, Jefferson, Mansfield, Ada Rehan, E.A. Sothern, E.C. Stedman, Ellen Terry and Bayard Taylor. Some of the book lots are the best which have been offered; those directly associated with Winter are most appealing; and the Shakespeareana (particularly rare publications and embellished acting editions) should receive the close attention of all collectors.
