Abstract:

Program for the second conference at Ithaca College, sponsored by the College's Roy H. Park School of Communications; 2008 conference presenters discussed many aspects of Serling's life, writings, interest in teaching, and especially his efforts to address serious subjects, such as the lynching of Emmett Till. "Noon on Doomsday", a proposed live television production inspired by the Emmet Till lynching but never aired, was presented as a table reading by Ithaca College actors. Winners of the Serling script-writing competition were presented, as well as the Rod Serling Video Festival in Binghamton, New York, and the current activities of the Rod Serling Archives at Ithaca College.
