This beautifully illustrated book is the well-known, well-loved story of the industrious little red hen who found some seeds, and all alone, she planted them, tended them, harvested them, took them to the mill to be ground into flour, and baked them. She did this herself, since none of the other animals could be bothered. It ended well for her and her chicks, for when the hot scrumptious-smelling loaf came out of the oven, there was not one other animal she felt she needed to share it with!
