Jean Davies Okimoto has created a beautifully layered exploration of an artist's perseverance.  I especially liked that the main character, Annie, has decided to begin her artistic career relatively late in life.  (<a href="http://www.pickcheaps.com">www.pickcheaps.com</a> )
