Brit. mus. Catalogue; Kitton, F.G. The minor writings of Charles Dickens, 1900, p. 70-74 and Cohn, A.M. A few notes upon some rare Cruikshankiana, 1915, p. 17); "now accepted as a joint adaptation by Thackeray and Dickens ... The introduction and notes are entirely Dickens's work" (cf. Note, p.  (1st group)).
