The Lowe Collection consists of the papers and letters of John W. Lowe, Xenia lawyer and Mexican War officer; his son Thomas O. Lowe, Dayton lawyer, judge, and later clergyman; and other Lowe family members. The collection includes correspondence, newspaper clippings, scrapbooks and notebooks, legal documents, photographs, and mementoes. The majority of the materials were created or collected by Thomas O. Lowe, the most significant of which relate to Lowe's involvement with the Copperhead Movement in Dayton, Ohio. Other notable materials in this collection include John W. Lowe's Mexican War correspondence.
