Imprint and date as given by ISTC. Colophon, leaf c5v, reads: "Hec opuscula castigatissime emendata Impressa sunt Auinione impensa Nicolai Tepe ciuis Auoniensis. M.cccc. xcvij. Idibus octobris."
"Luciani Palinurus" is actually Vegius' De felicitate et miseria dialogus. "Luciani Heroica in amorem" is Moschus' The runaway love. "Luciani Asinus aureus" is not included in any copy known.
The first book printed at Avignon. "A contract dated 26 September, 1497, engages the printers Michel du Ruzeau, Rohault, and Richard Le Gentilhomme, on behalf of Nicolaus Tepe, to complete one quaternion of it every other day ... up to a maximum of 1500 copies, Tepe to supply the paper and [Gellius Barnardinus] Marmita, a local humanist and schoolmaster, to read the proofs. ... Of Du Ruzeau and Le Gentilhomme we know nothing more."--BM XVth century, VIII, page lxxxvi.
GW identifies printer as Jean du Pré, an old attribution discounted by BM XVth century.
Edited by Gellius Bernardinus Marmitta, with his prefatory epistle: "Gelli[us] Bernardinus Marmita parme[n]sis. R.P. & D.D. Cleme[n]ti de ruuere Episcopo & Comiti Mimaten[sis]. ac Auenionis vicelegato meritissimo."
Translations by Rinuccio of Arezzo and Francesco Griffolini.
