I was really struck by this story. On one level, it is a very true-to-life account of how transgender people feel. My partner is transgender and many things that Luna felt or discussed with her sister I've heard from my partner.

On another level, Regan's struggle to be herself, keep a deep secret and her feelings of being in the shadow of Luna should resonate with anyone who has a "special" person in their life for any reason. It's not easy--but Peter's novel shows how we all need to find ourselves and our own way in this world.

The story is truly excellent and hard to put down. Great story, great subject and likable characters that live on in your mind after you're done reading.
