Abstract:

(Producer) Today's healthcare systems are dynamic entities that are constantly changing, for a variety of reasons. Organizational changes may affect a single unit, a division, or the organization as a whole. However, almost all change affects the individual healthcare professional. To help ensure that change realizes its fullest potential, nurse leaders and managers must serve as change agents and help their staff to accept and adjust to necessary change. This video uses clips from interviews with nurse managers, narration, graphics, and realistic scenarios to explain key concepts such as the stages of change, creating an environment that supports change, applying the management process to change, and making effective use of strategies to achieve change.
