Abstract:
Shows how Winnie Mandela, wife of Nelson Mandela, the symbol of Black South Africa's ongoing struggle to overthrow the tyrannies of apartheid, has become, in her own right, a strong force in the freedom movement. Documentary footage, stills, and narration reveal the cruel realities of life for Blacks in their partitioned country and focus on pivotal civil rights events that have either influenced, or been organized by, the Mandelas.
