Abstract:

A Manual of Demonology and the Occult probes into the data that belies some of the commonly held beliefs about occultic activity. Stripping away conjecture and speculation, this book tells why: Demonism and mental illness often display similar symptoms, but they can be distinguised from one another; A person cannot be demon-possessed against his will, even though there is a form of involuntary demonization; Exorcising a demon is not the same as casting it out; The study of extrasensory perception is not occult, but it involves investigation of occultic phenomena; A person can be involved with occult practices and remain a Christian, but not without serious consequences; A Christian counselor can anticipate a demonized patient's responses and be prepared to deal with them effectively. A Manual of Demonology and the Occult examines the only truly reliable source of information that dispels the myths and misunderstandings -- the Bible. - Back cover.
