Volume 1 Episode 5 consists of the following titles: Army: General Douglas MacArthur mobilizes the U.S. Army for maneuvers. Soldiers responding to military exercise call. Lloyd's of London insurance market gives 500 to 1 odds on any nation invading the United States. Croix de Feu: Highlighting events in the French Republic that led to the formation of the right wing Croix-de-Feu (Cross of Fire) and with Francois da la Rocque leading the organization, has grown into 400,000 Nationalists ready for mobilization. Includes second worst railroad wreck in French history, the Alexandre Stavisky Affair, Bastille Day parade and demonstrations. Father Coughlin: Portrait of the politically outspoken Roman Catholic radio evangelist priest Father Charles Edward Coughlin. Organized as the "National Union for Social Justice" his followers (who number in the millions) have just built a new church. Includes an overview of critics and loyal supporters in the church.
