Abstract:

Volume 3 Episode 9 consists of the following titles: Amateur Sleuths: People like the challenge of solving crimes, some enjoy reading books and pulp magazines on the subject, but a group of scientists with specific talents have formed a club to help solve crimes for the police. Britain's Food Defenses : Half the food England consumes is imported and any interruption of imports would be catastrophic. In preparation for war, the War Ministry begins to build up the armed forces, but has found a shortage of men due to malnutrition. Ducking the issue, the government encourages better physical fitness. At the same time, the War Ministry promises four meals a day and offers "reconditioning camps" for undernourished would-be soldiers. The Supreme Court : President Franklin D. Roosevelt is having problems with Supreme Court over his increased governmental control "New Deal" solutions. For the first time, the official printing company begins selling Supreme Court Decisions to the public. The Wagner Act of Employee Rights and Prevention of Unfair Labor Practices has been challenged.
