Abstract:

Who will inherit the riches of wealthy old Martin Chuzzlewit? The obsequious Pecksniff, whit his daughters, Mercy and Charity, attempts to grovel into the old man's good graces, while the wicked Jonas will stop at nothing ... even murder.
