Abstract:

Take a look at the carnival of Guinea-Bissau in all its cultural splendour and all its creativity. Carnival has always been perceived as a great popular festival. The secret surrounding the making of the masks and the spying operations testify to everyone's will to present the best possible creations. Bartolomeu, recognised as the best artist-creator in Bissau, has somewhat innovative ideas for this year's carnival. Because of these new ideas, he has been turfed out of his usual group. Nevertheless, he has managed to integrate another group, and by distracting the attention of the spies, manages to create the mask which will give the victory to his new group.
