"Recorded by the original artist" (A & B).
"In conservative Britain, the popular F-series, starting at F-1501 in July of 1929 was always true blue. British Decca 'the Supreme Record' bore as its trade mark a bust of Beethoven, glowering above the middle C of the brand name, regardless of the music on the record. His services were not dispensed with until 1954." (The American Record Label Book, 1984, Brian Rust).
The 1945 musical revue "Sigh no more" included 22 songs composed by Noel Coward, Joyce Grenfell, Richard Addinsell and Norman Hackforth; both "Matelot" and "Sigh no more" were credited to Coward (Wikipedia, August 27, 2009).
