1st ed., 2 v. only as published. A third v. was brought out by the editor (Isaac Littlebury?)--in 1699: Memoirs of Lieutenant General Ludlow ... With a collection of original papers, serving to confirm and illustrate many important passages of this and the preceding volumes. To which is added, a table to the whole work. This imprint is considered fictitious; probably printed in London, by John Darby. Cf. C.H. Firth's edition of the Memoirs (1894) v. 1 p. [vii], x-xiv.
"The editor of the first edition took the liberty of suppressing all passages which reflected on the Earl of Shaftesbury. Copies of these passages were found among Locke's papers, and are printed in Christie's Life of Shaftesbury (vol. I, p. lvi-lxii)."--Dict. nat. biog.
