1st ed., 2 v. only as published. A third v. was brought out by the editor (Isaac Littlebury?) in 1699: The imprint is considered fictitious; probably printed in London, by John Darby. Cf. C.H. Firth's edition of the Memoirs (1894) v. 1 p. [vii], x-xiv.
"A heavily rewritten and heavily abbreviated version of 'A voyce [from the watch tower]' appeared as the Memoirs of Edmund Ludlow in 1698-9 in three volumes, nominally published at Vevey [where Ludlow lived in exile] but in reality printed by John Darby of Bartholomew Close, London. The editor was probably the deist and republican John Toland. Cf. DNB.

"The editor of the first edition took the liberty of suppressing all passages which reflected on the Earl of Shaftesbury. Copies of these passages were found among Locke's papers, and are printed in Christie's Life of Shaftesbury (vol. I, p. lvi-lxii)."--Dict. nat. biog.
