If you even came close to liking the film version starring Tom Hanks, then you MUST read the book, which is a thousand times better, although Hank's hairstyle in the film is a must-see.

One thing that...

Great book, wish the author would have explained a little more at the end. I felt there was not complete closure.

I would recommend this to my friends because it is a funny story about this brother and sister who fight all the time. It is as good as her (Judy Blume's) other books for 3rd & 4th graders.

A true timeless classic, this is a heartwarming tale follows the relationship between a boy and a tree through several decades. I loved it. I think that this is a great read for the beginning reader, and also a great  introduction to Emotional Intelligence (EQ) as well.
