Abstract:

Nicholas Vetter (ca. 1665-after July 1726) was born in or near Frensheim, Germany. He and his wife, Maria Elisabetha (1669/70-1723), had nine children, ca. 1694-1714. Their son, Joh. Michael Vetter, was born in 1703/04 at Freinsheim, Germany. He married Maria Catharina Weber in 1726 at Friensheim. They had two children, 1727-1730. The family immigrated to America in 1731. He purchased land in Oley, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, in 1736. Record lists children and some grandchildren for each generation but chiefly follows line of descent to Michael Fetters (1819-1875). He was born in Stark county, Ohio, the son of George Fetters (1787-1845). He married Elizabeth Fausennaught in 1842. They had one son born in 1843 in Stark County. The family migrated to Elkhart County, Indiana, in 1845. He married 2) Susanna Brumbaugh (ca. 1827-1872) in 1846 in Elkhart County, Indiana. They had ten children, 1847-1866. He died in Marshall County, Indiana, and was buried at Burr Oak Cemetery near Culver, Indiana. Descendants listed lived in Indiana, Nebraska, and elsewhere.
