This autobiography covers his early life and his working life. He began his service in Egypt from 1903 to 1911; in British colonial Sudan from 1911 to 1913; he spent WWI, from 1913 to 1918, in England; in Iraq from 1918 to 1920; and Palestine from 1920 to 1936. Contains firsthand information about the educational resources of these nations. The sources for the autobiography include the author's journal and a variety of scholarly sources, public and private letters and records, and other official documents. Also includes photographs of schools.
