Abstract:

The program begins with women discussing the separation problems they experienced when they left their children to return to work. They talk about the adjustment of the parents and children to the new situation. Mr. Rogers explores various day care options available for children and visits several day care centers. He talks with parents, children, and child care workers about the issues surrounding day care such as separation problems, the children's adjustment to day care, and parent's guilt in placing the child in someone else's care. With day dare directors, he discusses what to look for when considering day care. He also compares home care with day care centers.
