Two books by author Sarah Stewart and illustrator David Small are featured in this collection. In addition, an exclusive interview with the pair, highlighting their partnership, is included.

The money tree: In summer the leaves on the strange tree growing in Miss McGillicuddy's yard are harvested by many people, but when Miss McGillicuddy thinks about needing firewood for the winter, she realizes the tree may have another use. The friend: With Mom too busy and Dad away much of the time, Belle finds companionship with a household employee who after each day's work takes Belle "hand in hand" to the beach.
