Abstract:

Looking for something new and exciting, English journalist Frances Brett accepts an invitation to travel to Istanbul for a six month stay. Once settled in Istanbul, she begins exploring the fabulous city where meeting the handsome but myserious Nicholas Marquend is an unexpected bonus. Their relationship seems full of promise, but it ends abruptly when Nicholas abandons her without explanation. Back in London, Frances immerses herself in her work and discovers the unhappy fate of Daniel Forrest, the man she had known as Nicholas Marquend, whose mutilated body is found in a country marsh. Confused and outraged, Frances travels between London, France and Istanbul trying to see the pattern in the mosaic of Daniel/Nicholas' life and tragic death.
