Note on p. 95 states that this supersedes the edition entitled Mother Goose's Quarto.
For the bibliographic history of other Munroe and Francis editions of Mother Goose see Mother Goose's Melodies; introduction and bibliographic note by E.F. Bleiler. New York: Dover Publications [1970] and Codman Hislop, "The Americanization of Mother Goose," The Colophon, Summer 1938. The present edition was unknown to Bleiler and Hislop.
The engravings on p. 10, 30, 43 and 44 are signed respectively AB, AB, Bowen, and B (Abel Bowen). That on p. 32 is signed ND (Nathaniel Dearborn). That on p. 50 is signed Childs (Shubael D. Childs).
Pagination includes frontispiece.
Error in binding: p. 55-58 bound between 60 and 61.
