Abstract:

Photographs taken by S.A. Hill show views from 1889 travels in Asia of Mr. & Mrs. Hill and Rudyard Kipling. Photographs include views in Allahabad, India; temple in Burma; passengers on the S.S. Africa; boats in Hong Kong harbor ; Nikko, Japan; views of the harbor in Hong Kong. Includes photograph of Kipling walking with King George V of England and unidentified military officer on a visit to the graves of British soldiers in Belgium in 1930 and newspaper clipping using image from that photograph published by Times Wide World Photos. Handwritten caption "From the NY Times, 9/12/30". Also includes two photomechanical reproductions of "Our Punkah man" and "Belvedere House, Allahabad, India".
