Abstract:

The CD-ROM contains the first edition of Zarlino's Institutioni (1558) and the three volumes of the Tutte le Opere (1588-1589) both in facsimile, including all illustrations, and in electronic transcription using SGML. Music examples from both editions of the Institutioni are transcribed into modern notation; some examples can be played using MIDI. It also contains a list of persons and compositions mentioned in the the treatise.
