Abstract:

The ultimate Watergate parody. A subtle, delightful comedy set in the Abbey of Philadelphia. Glenda Jackson as Sister Alexandra fears defeat in ther election for head Abbas from Sister Felicity a young, rebellious candidate, so she bugs the Abbey. She arranges for two Jesuits to break in and steal love letters from Sister Felicity's work box. The break-in is foiled and the coverup begins. Alexandra wins by a landslide and Felicity is banished. Felicity takes her case to the people, complete with an appearance on the Mike Douglas show. One thing leads to another and Alexandra is exhiled. As she boards the plane she turns to the press with her last words, "You won't have Alexandra to kick around anymore." You're sure to enjoy this tasteful treat regardless of religious or political persuasion.
