Specifically, this interview regards Robert Muehlenkamp's personal background, including his experience in the organizing campaign in Baltimore, Md.; training programs to prepare delegates and rank and file members for leadership positions; Muehlenkamp's relationship with Elliott Godoff; Godoff's personality, organizational strategy, and training of his successors and staff; Godoff's and Fred Punch's relationship; the method of identifying organizing ability in union leaders; civil rights issues in Charleston, S.C. and their effects on the Baltimore campaign; and the 1199 organizing campaign in the Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Mich.
