Consists of the original autograph manuscript signed, written in German, of a lecture delivered on the occasion of the sesquicentennial celebration of Princeton University. The lecture was translated into English by Edmund Yard Robbins, Princeton Class of 1889, and published by Charles Scribner's Sons in 1897. Included with the manuscript is an autograph letter from Brugmann to Princeton Dean Andrew Fleming West regarding the lecture and the translation by Robbins. The letter is dated Feb. 17, 1897.
