Pictures depicting the "New Immigration" to America which took place between 1880 and 1920. These drawings, cartoons, photographs, posters, and other illustrations are almost all from the period that they represent. They describe the relatively larger numbers of immigrants and their origins in countries of Eastern and Southern Europe. Also shown are the process of assimilation and some of the supportive efforts made to receive these people.
