Abstract:

Presents the history of women's suffrage through the dramatic, often turbulent friendship between Elizabeth Stanton and Susan Anthony who were born into a world ruled entirely by men. By the time their lives were over, they had changed for the better the lives of a majority of American citizens. This final segment of a 2-part presentation covers the years from the establishment of the National Woman Suffrage Association in 1868 to the passage of the 19th amendment to the Constitution in 1919 which gave women the vote.
