Where other resources have been sparse and lacking in content—especially electronic resources—this book was a gold mine of information. The book covers every aspect of the Pacific Island tribes, including both historical and contemporary facts. The information is neatly divided up by category and everything is well-indexed in the back, so finding specific information is an easy and efficient process. Also, this book contains a multitude of detailed sketches, allowing the reader to see images of things that are rarely (if ever) photographed. I would highly recommend this book to anyone doing any sort of research on Pacific Island culture; it is thoroughly indispensible.
