Correspondence, speeches, publications, reports, newsletters, photographs, and other files document Dr. Walter Clinton Jackson's administration at the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina from 1934 to 1950. Records chiefly detail new academic programs and departments; improvements to academic programs; efforts to increase music and the arts on campus; student affairs; and the construction of new facilities on campus. Prominent correspondents include Robert Gregg Cherry, Josephus Daniels, Frank Porter Graham, and Robert B. House. Also includes biographical information and materials related to Jackson's tenure as Guilford County director of the Citizens' Service Corps during World War II.
