Abstract:

William H. Trombley's assignment for the Los Angeles Times was to cover higher education, which included reporting on meetings of the University of California Board of Regents. His recollection of observations and impressions of the meetings attended by an increasingly divided regental body during a period of rapid campus physical development and expansion, of persistent student rebelliousness, and of the President Clark Kerr's dismissal. They complement articles about California's post-secondary educational institutions.
