Abstract:

First interview includes description of Snyder, Okla., in 1912 (with boardwalks on the main streets and two hotels); sight of Cole Younger of the James gang in Snyder; Teddy Roosevelt on the campaign trail; 4th of July picnics in Mountain Park, with Indians ritual slaughter of an animal.

Includes mention of Snyder having three newspapers between 1918-1920s; description of Snyder tornado in 1917; feeding transients who came through Snyder during the 1930s Depression; local doctors; and work for the railroad. Second interview includes reminiscences of movie actors, Raymond Burr and Roy Rogers; Lowe's sight of his first airplane at Post Field; Indians camping on family land; early kitchen stoves; articles written for newspapers and magazines after retirement; and general philosophy of life.
